IHG Joins Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Initiative with Cleanliness Drive in Jaipur
11 December, 2014 – InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s largest hotel chains by number of rooms, kicked off their participation in the national Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative with a cleanliness drive in the heritage city of Jaipur yesterday.
Translated to mean “Clean India Mission”, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign initiated by the government of India in working towards the national vision of a “Clean India” by 2019. As a responsible business with the objective of developing sustainable communities in South West Asia, IHG has planned a series of events for 2015 in support of the national campaign.
The hotel company launched its year-long cleanliness drive at the renowned garden, Ram Niwas Bagh, in the Pink City of Jaipur yesterday. In a great show of support, the drive was led by the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan Smt. Krishnedra Kaur, and saw the participation of 21 General Managers across IHG hotels in South West Asia, along with the company’s leadership team, in cleaning the park.

IHG currently has 23 hotels open across four brands in South West Asia: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express; and a further 50 hotels in the development pipeline due to open in the next three to five years.
